I don’t ‘twit’, ‘face’ or ‘insta’ so it’s difficult to express my major disappointment with the poorly cast male leads in so many of Hallmark’s movies, so I wish u would. Is it because they can’t afford better? We watched “A Ring by Spring’ last night & the male lead was a total distraction for us. Really . . . .??? The casting directors r pathetic if that’s all they can come up with. Short, unattractive, scruffy, unkempt-looking with stick-straight hair that looks like they just survived a cyclone. Really sad to take an otherwise great movie & ruin it with a leading actor.

Hi there,
I am probably your biggest fan and eagerly await each movie review that you post. I have read every single one over and over again enjoying it more each time! In fact, I think we watch every Christmas movie on every channel just so we could read your review after. I’ve been checking your page ever since July this year when Hallmark aired it’s first Christmas movie but have not seen a single post from you. I just hope and pray you are doing well. You bring so much of joy and happiness in our lives and have a true talent for writing with an impeccable sense of humor to match. Please continue to do so. I really do wish you well and truly hope you are doing good. Please do drop me a line to let me know you are ok.
Kindest regards,
A genuinely worried fan
Hello Genuinely Worried Fan Serendipity!
Thank you so much for your kind words and concern! I ended up changing jobs and moving across the country a little over a year ago and when I did, I really thought I updated my email address with WordPress so that I would see when notifications and comments came in but apparently I didn’t do it correctly. Then the Christmas movie season came around and as you noticed, I didn’t write any reviews. Why the hell not? I don’t know. I wanted to and thought about it and we watched pretty much all the movies I could but I was somehow more busy last year and once I got behind, the idea of catching up became too daunting of a task. It’s also possible that the Russians hacked me and somehow prevented me from writing anything.
Probably more information than you wanted to know but at the very least, I am alive and just watched The Christmas Cure last night. Maybe I’ll even write a review? The tricky thing this year is that I am trying to start up my own small business, which means I’ll be busier still and God only knows what the Russians have in store for us next.
In any case, thank you again, so very much for the note. I am very glad to hear that someone out there appreciated these things like you did.
Take care,
Alex
Dear Alex,
I am so sorry for the delay in my response. I kept checking your page for a response and after giving up, I came back “just in case”, hoping for my own “Christmas miracle” (pun intended!) to see if you’ve started writing again and saw your response! I am so relieved to know you are doing well! *phew*
I too am a small business owner so I can certainly appreciate the hard work involved. I wish you the best of luck, as you embark on this new and exciting journey!
I have my own nightmares about a layover in Moscow from years ago, so I am not envious and sincerely hope you make it back home soon!
Please please please continue to write. I absolutely cannot wait to read your next review! (you won’t believe this but whenever we watch a Christmas movie, I am constantly wondering in the back of my mind as to how hilarious your review would be!)
PS: We completely agreed with you about “Beverly hills Christmas” and thought nothing could have more lamentable actors untill.. we watched “My Christmas Prince”, “Christmas cruise” and several other “movies so bad, they’re awesome” candidates! Would love to hear your thoughts 🙂
Take care and best wishes,
Still your biggest fan, eagerly waiting for your next review, Serendipity 🙂
Hi again Alex, hope you have been well. 🙂 Still checking your blog as I do each year looking for your reviews. Hope you get back to writing soon!
